What's the idea behind ICE ID?

ICE ID is dedicated to the idea that any person who is active outdoors should be wearing an In Case of Emergency tag. In a country where we have both an abundance of outdoor activity and many ways we can be hurt, choosing to wear ICE ID is a way we can feel and be safer. As an athlete, be it a cyclist, runner, canoeist etc, you'll likely find yourself far from home, friends and family. Consider the vulnerability of training by yourself with no identification.

ICE ID is strong, simple and stylish enough to be worn on all occasions, it's something that can speak for you when you can't. Containing all of the information needed In Case of Emergency, ICE ID, will improve the safety of everyone enjoying the great outdoors.

What does the name ICE ID mean?

ICE is an internationally known acronym for In Case of Emergency. Throughout the world everyone is encouraged to enter the acronym ICE into their mobile phone with the person’s number they would like contacted In Case of Emergency. ICE ID takes it a few steps further. In case of an emergency you may need more than just a contact number. You may want paramedics to know that you are a diabetic, that you're allergic to penicillin, what your blood type or medical aid number is. It's not always practical to carry cell phones when we are walking, hiking, running, cycling, surfing etc. At these times we need wearable-identification that can’t be dropped, lose signal, be broken in a fall, get stolen or left behind.

Who needs ICE ID?

ICE ID says a lot about you, not only in the event of emergency but also as a lifestyle statement. Whether you're a runner, cyclist, walker, hiker, climber, surfer, swimmer, kayaker, or just someone who doesn't spend their life on the couch, you should wear ID. We don’t think twice about wearing a seat belt or a cycling helmet, yet we repeatedly venture outdoors with no identification. It's not just adults that need ID, kids need it too. Every child at every time of the day should have ID, whether at school, riding a bike, playing in the park, in a shopping center, at the beach or visiting friends. Imagine paramedics not knowing who to contact simply because we did not have ID. In the event of an emergency, minutes matter. We want family to be contacted immediately. We want them to be at our side as quickly as possible and we want to ensure that we receive proper medical treatment. Simply by wearing ICE ID we can answer these needs.

What is ICE ID?

ICE ID is a wearable In Case of Emergency Identification product. Currently there are 2 different forms, shoe ICE and wrist ICE, soon to be followed up with ankle ICE. All products carry Scotchlite™ 3M reflective material adding another layer of safety when outdoors in low light conditions. The ICE ID range allows everyone no matter what their choice of outdoor activity to find a comfortable, stylish way to carry their ID at all times.

Are ICE IDs guaranteed?

The stainless steel ICE ID tag has been made as tough as those who wear it. If you wear out an ICE ID tag we will replace it at no charge. Unfortunately, we do not guarantee the ICE ID band or strap.

Can ICE ID be bought as a gift?

Actually, at least half of all ICE IDs will be bought as a gift. What could be better than buying the gift of safety? By buying a gift ICE the recipient will be able to enter their particulars and choose the product, size and colour of their choice. If it's a spouse or significant other, what can be better than making them safer and giving you peace of mind. Any value may be chosen for the gift ICE as it may be used for multiple purchases. The gift ICE can be sent by email or mail to the recipient.

Do you have a privacy policy?

Yes we do, we refuse to share your personal information with anyone. Your name, address, email address, etc. will NOT be sold, traded, or given to any business, organization, or individual for any reason. For more details click here.

Can a running / cycling or other sports club have their club logo printed on the ICE ID?

Absolutely, not only can we print the club name onto the ICE ID, we can also match the colour to the clubs colours. Contact Us to discuss further.

What happens if there is a mistake on my ICE ID tag?

If an order is taken over the phone, by fax, or through the mail, it may be misinterpreted during the processing of the order. Often times, we phone customers that have mailed in their orders if we cannot ascertain what a particular letter or word is. If a mistake is made by us, we replace the ICE ID at no charge. If however, the customer makes the mistake, there is a small processing fee to re-do the tag.

When will I receive my ICE ID?

Each unique product goes through a customization procedure to be laser engraved per your request. The amount of time it takes your order to be posted is dependent on several variables. Orders will however take no longer than two weeks to be posted. The speed at which it is delivered after we post the item(s) is based on the type of post you selected and the Postal Service.
