SAMPLE TEXT

What should I put on my tag?

You have up to 6 lines of text and up to 22 characters (letters and numbers) per line. Any commas, dashes or spaces between letters or words are treated as a space, you do not need to use all six lines. We encourage you to use the 1st three lines to state your name, city and an emergency contact phone number. If you have any allergies or medical conditions these should be included next. See examples below.

  • PHONE NUMBERS List as many phones numbers as you can - the more the better. Separate phone numbers with dashes instead of periods or spaces eg. 0207-123-4567
  • CITY, COUNTRY This is the most common format for this information, your street address and post code is not important.
  • ALLERGIES Allergies like "NO PCN" (the abbreviation for "Allergic to Penicillin") are important to list. You do NOT need to list "seasonal" allergies.
  • DIABETES, EPILEPSY If you have a particular medical condition that emergency personnel should know about, list it, it is important.
  • BLOOD TYPE, ORGAN DONOR These are important items to list.
  • MEDICAL AID & NUMBER It is good idea to list your medical aid company and number.
  • QUOTES, SLOGANS, ACHIEVEMENTS Many people will use the last line to put a favourite quote or slogan. Be creative.
